QUALITY AND CONTROL

“Almost all quality improvement comes via simplification of design, manufacturing, layout, processes and procedures.”

Quality and control

With experience producing rubber since 1959, our production sites have the right experience. Today all production is supervised and controlled according to ISO9001 further  with environmental management system ISO 14001 as well as OHSAS 18001 (occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) for occupational health and safety management system. We let our bollards be tested and certified if required and the fenderdesign for element are typeapproved and tested according to PIANC 2002’s guidlines for the Design of Fender System.

PsG marine rubber fenders are made of  high quality Natural Rubber or Styrene Butadiene Rubber compounds. Fenders made of other rubber quality compounds can be offered, mainly Neoprene, EPDM, Polyurethane and Butyl Rubber. For general material properties, please ask for datasheet. Many of PsG marine rubber elements are PIANC Type approved with full scale compressiontest according to PIANC 2002’s recommendation.

Tolerances from Portsupplier Group are subject to standard manufacturing and performance tolerances.  Length, width and height +4%/-2%,  fixing hole diameter +/- 2mm.

All tests shall meet the requirements of tolerances and material specifications on raw material. The test will be made of every ten produced goods ordered.

PsG fender panels of steel are well-designed to distribute reaction forces into the hulls of berthing vessels and even the concentrated  force from belts or strakes can be taken into consideration when designing. Below some of the quality controlling that will be made and documented during production:

  • Welded joints are inspected
  • Pressure leak test inspection
  • Sandblasting
  • Paintapplication inspection
  • Weld Studs for UHMW-PE checked
  • Conformity

Portsuppliers Group deliveres mooring bollards and anchorages designed with a factor of safety against failure. They are available in various steel grades according to customer requirements and will delivered marine painted as standard.  If you require a certified bollard, we will arrange this with third party witness certificate (optional but recommended). Even our fasteners are quality assured.

Marine bollards are a simple and cost-effective way to fulfil mooring requirements and safely secure vessels alongside jetties, berths, wharves and dolphins.

To avoid damages to the wharf, bollard’s and anchorage’s load capacity can be limited. This is implemented by the use of fuse bolts. Please contact us for further information.
